Take a moment to travel inland and you’ll discover some of the Grand Strand’s best
kept secrets (well... until now!) More than just an oceanfront playground, the Grand
Strand is home to a variety of one-of-a-kind cultural attractions and activities.

SOS Festivals - Enjoy two annual events that celebrate the Shag, a
dance originating in the 1940s in North Myrtle Beach. For locals, the
Shag is much more than a dance, it’s embedded in the culture of the
proud people who live here. Joining the locals is a national group
known as the Society of Stranders (SOS), who all gather together
three times a year and throw the biggest beach party ever. It’s an
easy dance to learn and there’s no better way to spend your time than
dancing the night away, so be sure to join in the fun!
